Anna Garleff (PhD in proficio) has served as Freelance Coach and Associate Lecturer for business and management training institutions, including
one of Britain's top ten universities. Her management responsibilities include task analysis, team building and motivation, and leadership training.
She has developed new curricula and training programmes for key European institutions.

Key Accomplishments:
- Co-authored and taught 'Consultant for International Business Contacts and Intercultural Management', including presentation techniques, intercultural competence, theory and communication skills. 90% of participants were placed in key positions throughout Europe.
- Co-authored 'Intercultural Non-Verbal Communication for Employees and Volunteers of NGOs Abroad', resulting in new co-authoring partnerships and keynote speaking invitations.
- Developed and implemented a novel approach to learning to maintain cooperation agreement objectives between UK and German universities. Resulted in a 33% increase in new recruits for the universities. Used as a model for a broad series of training programmes.
- Developed and taught course in communication for the European Union, which improved managers' intercultural competence & communication skills.
- Developed and led intercultural communication for European patent lawyers, significantly reducing errors and misunderstandings with the firm's partners and clients.
- Wrote and led 'International Management Skills, Mnemonics and Rhetoric'. The programme's success continues to draw participants from throughout Europe.
Prior to launching her own coaching business, Anna Garleff worked extensively in higher education.
- Appointed tutor in Social Science and Psychology for the University of Hamburg
- Promoted to the position of Member of Scientific Staff as Local Representative of The Open University (UK) in 1999. She was the point of contact for staff, enquirers and students in Germany, maintaining and extending the cooperation agreement between the two institutions. Through a new corporate marketing launch, she significantly increased the profile of both universities in Europe and launched the first graduation ceremonies in Germany.
- Founding member of the European Centre for Antiziganism. She developed its first research programme through the European Union in support of the Roma and Cinti people and against racism.
- Trained and managed a team of 28 trainers for the management firm Elementen Consulting in Berlin, Germany, and helped the company devise its range of programmes.
- Presented a programme on 'International Dimensions' at the 20th World Conference on Open Learning and Distance education in Düsseldorf, Germany, in 2001 and has edited various PhDs and European Union publications.
Professional Career:
- Born in Saskatoon, Canada, Anna Garleff moved from Red Deer where she had been studying Fine Arts, to Europe where she completed an Honours Degree in Psychology with distinction.
- She then studied psychological Discourse Analysis, was accredited by the Institute of Learning and Teaching (UK), and awarded Post-graduate Certification.
- She is completing a PhD with the University of Hamburg on the subject of pan-European national identity and politics.
- Anna Garleff has been appointed as freelance lecturer at several institutions: The European Academy, Einfal GmbH, the employment office of Hamburg, Germany and Webster's University in the Netherlands.
- She is a founding member of the Scientific Council of the European Centre for and belongs to The Institute for Learning and Teaching (UK), the German association of psychologists and The British Psychological Society.
